Description:
A2DP does not work with bluez' configuration shipped with the package.
This is probably an upstream bug, because there's no "Enable=Socket" in the [General] section of the audio.conf.

Thanks for the report. I think this probably would be more appropriately filed upstream, as I'm generally hesitant to include patches, especially if they are not upstream.

After further digging in bluez' mailing list archives I found this:

But still: it's unfortunate that users that still want to use the (deprecated) socket
method are not informed that they have to change their configuration.

That is unfortunate indeed, and thanks for digging up the links. The question is now, why was the patch not applied upstream. I got the impression from the ML thread that this was going to happen, but apparently it has not?

I tried bluez-git from AUR.
It still has the same bug/issue.
So I guess either it was not applied or it did not work.

If this still does not work with 4.101, then please file a bug upstream.
