Detailsrc.conf.5 mentions NETWORKS. Starting with netcfg 2.8.0, netcfg discourages defining NETWORKS in rc.conf.
As a side effect in the initscripts hook, it will be possible to do so, even in the foreseeable future (but /etc/conf.d/netcfg takes precedence). The man page also reads: "prefix an entry with a ! to disable it". This functionality is dropped. New functionality was included. If the NETWORKS section is retained, please replace the line with "prefix an entry with a @ to background its startup". |
