works well also for my HD4850 (r600g)

Please make sure you properly updated with pacman -Syu, and the testing repo is activated.
Cherry pick of packages from anaother repo is always problematic.

HD5770 Vapor-X (Evergreen, R800).
xf86-video-ati-git from aur works fine.

I compiled firefox without system cairo support, xorg crash after launch it.
midori, chromium, gparted, libreoffice (-kde4) too.

Testing, Core, Extra, Community-Testing and Community are enabled.
I use only official packages.

xf86-video-ati 6.14.4-3 is segfaulting xorg for me as well when chromium or firefox is launched. Probably more apps are effected, those are the two I tried. urxvt works fine. Rolling back to xf86-video-ati 6.14.4-2 works again. I am running up to date testing with the exception of this driver.

I am seeing the corruption mentioned in the bug report, and have for a while now though it is only minor and I haven't worried about it. Only with the install of xf86-video-ati 6.14.4-3 did I start seeing segfaults every time chromium is launched though.

Card: Chipset: "ATI Radeon HD 6700 Series" (ChipID = 0x68ba)

Edit: Re installed xf86-video-ati 6.14.4-3 to get a copy of the backtrace and then down graded back to 6.14.4-2.

I got this error, too. Segfault when trying to start GDM. reverting 6.14.4-2 temporarily solves the problem. I added the complete Xorg log as attachment.

Please report your segfaults to the upstream Devs in the Cairo bug report and to the Xorg ati mailing list where these patches are discussed.

Please test Xorg-server 1.12.1-2 and ati driver 6.14.4-4. If it still crashes please talk to Alex Deucher and Michel Dänzer at the ati mailing list or the cairo bug report.
