Description:

It is necessary to start vmware-user-suid-wrapper, as this enables a number of crucial features of open-vm-tools including auto-resizing of X and drag-and-drop.

A number of users have encountered this problem (for instance, https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=137901).

In the forums (https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1076018), Da_Coynul discovered a workaround which addresses this problem.

By installing the attached vmware-user.desktop to /etc/xdg/autostart, vmware-user-suid-wrapper is started automatically on login.

The package should be updated to incorporate this workaround, or in an equivalent but more permanent/robust manner.

Additional info:
* open-vm-tools 2012.03.13-1
* Attached vmware-user.desktop

if you do this, there must be a way to enable/disable this feature (security reasons).
maybe have a look into bug report 28945 to do that.

Put /usr/share/applications/vmware-user.desktop from source archive. Probably you may use it to create/symlink /etc/xdg/autostart/...
