Details

Description:
When booting from UEFI, suspending to ram causes a blank screen with unblinking cursor, when the computer is booted from the hard drive (bios_grub partition), suspend to ram works normally.

I get this same suspend lockup after upgrading to kernel 3.3 under normal use. Backed off to 3.2 and my system returned to normal. Can't trace the specific cause.

Aaron, the kernel freezing on sleep with a unblinking cursor is pretty common, it just means that part of the kernel (a module, or a built-in piece), doesn't suspend properly. See https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pm-utils#Black_screen_with_unblinking_cursor_when_trying_to_suspend. This is specifically a bug report for when not booting from UEFI suspends to ram properly, but when booting from UEFI the suspend to ram freezes with an unblinking cursor.
