hi
discovered just one small issue with last patch,
my dvd drive is now recognized as burner, perhaps you know a quick fix for this issue
it's not a big thing but it just jumped to my eyes

Does it also get /media/dvdwriter or /media/cdwriter as mountpoint? if so, then hal is detecting it wrong.

BTW: What's wrong with having a free hardware upgrade ;)

no hal recognize it as cdrom:
/dev/hdc /media/cdrom auto user,exec,noauto,comment=managed 0 0
media:/ and storage applet show it as golden cd writer :)

Hmm, how is it displayed in hal-device-manager for the storage.cdrom.* properties?

Hmm, this will get fixed in the new backport of hal I did from KDE 3.5: seems the mediatype is set to media/cdrom in initial state, then when it finds out it is a CDROM, CDR, etc etc, it makes the disk media/cdwriter instead. With the next release, an unmounted CD writer that contains not-writable media, will just show up as a normal CD device.
