Same here but with gnome 3.4.1-1, my error is:

gnome-shell: error while loading shared libraries: libcogl.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Comment by Ionut Biru (wonder) - Tuesday, 24 April 2012, 07:54 GMT
@Uoc how is this the same? You are missing cogl package.
Comment by Uoc Nguyen (tiger2wander) - Tuesday, 24 April 2012, 08:01 GMT
Not yet, I have cogl package installed but there are no libcogl.so.5

uocnb@hydrogen:~$ pacman -Qs cogl
local/cogl 1.10.2-1
An object oriented GL/GLES Abstraction/Utility Layer

uocnb@hydrogen:~$ ls -lh /usr/lib/libcogl*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 Th04 19 20:23 /usr/lib/libcogl-pango.so -> libcogl-pango.so.0.0.0*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 22 Th04 19 20:23 /usr/lib/libcogl-pango.so.0 -> libcogl-pango.so.0.0.0*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 31K Th04 19 20:23 /usr/lib/libcogl-pango.so.0.0.0*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 16 Th04 19 20:23 /usr/lib/libcogl.so -> libcogl.so.9.1.1*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 16 Th04 19 20:23 /usr/lib/libcogl.so.9 -> libcogl.so.9.1.1*
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 559K Th04 19 20:23 /usr/lib/libcogl.so.9.1.1*

If I create a symlink for libcogl.so.5 from libcogl.so.9.1.1 then it will end up with some errors: http://pastebin.ca/2139671

can you paste pacman -Qm ?

your problem is shellshape-mutter-git. You replaced mutter with some crappy fork.
the gtk errors exists because you use a gtk3 theme that is not compatible with gtk3 3.4
Comment by Uoc Nguyen (tiger2wander) - Tuesday, 24 April 2012, 08:25 GMT
yeah, it works like charm after I removed shellshape-mutter-git.

Thank you so much!

Apologies... all comments are about a "non-bug". Original report appears valid...

I can reproduce this, using gnome-shell 3.4.1-2

Up to date with all packages, the segfault in dmesg appears like this:

----------------
[ 4012.277846] gnome-shell[4042]: segfault at 2c ip b62a7074 sp bfcb00a0 error 4 in libcogl.so.9.1.1[b625c000+87000]
[ 4014.407029] gnome-shell[4110]: segfault at 2c ip b62a5074 sp bf98b740 error 4 in libcogl.so.9.1.1[b625a000+87000]
----------------

And .xsession-errors show:
----------------
gnome-session[4233]: WARNING: Application 'gnome-shell.desktop' killed by signal 11
Advertencia del gestor de ventanas: Log level 16: Failed to load apps: Failed to look up menu_file for "gnomecc.menu"

gnome-session[4233]: WARNING: Application 'gnome-shell.desktop' killed by signal 11
gnome-session[4233]: WARNING: App 'gnome-shell.desktop' respawning too quickly
----------------
The locale is in spanish, "Advertencia del gestor de ventanas" stands for "Window manager warning:"
