Just to ad something on here..if I enable libgl verbos degugging with "export LIBGL_DEBUG=verbose", I get the following error.

libGL: XF86DRIGetClientDriverName: 1.3.0 i915 (screen 0)
libGL: OpenDriver: trying /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/i915_dri.so
libGL error: dlopen /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/i915_dri.so failed (/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/dri/i915_d
libGL error: unable to find driver: i915_dri.so

The file is in that location though. I'm confused..

I am seeing the same thing. I get about 290FPS using the xorg from testing on my thinkpad X41 with i915 chipset. Using Ubuntu Breezy I get around 580FPS. I have a thread opened in the forum where I list my xorg.conf file (using i810 driver and i915 module)

There's a new xorg in testing. I've taken a different patch to support i9xx videochips, Mandriva uses the same patches. Please test this new release and report if the new release fixes your problems.
