Detailscairo 1.12.0 was just released and according to the release notes[1], the xcb backend is no longer considered as experimental (the README hasn't been updated yet as it seems), which was the reason why it was removed from the official package some time ago.
Please re-enable the xcb backend in the offical package so that packages that depend on it like awesome can be moved back into the repositories. Maybe the cairo-xcb package that I used to maintain in the AUR can be removed when this request was implemented. [1] http://cairographics.org/news/cairo-1.12.0/ |
