Description:
After updating the Nvidia driver package from 295.20-3 to 295.20-4, from the Testing repo, GNOME 3.3.92 hangs after logging in. The GUI background/windowing area is displayed and the panel starts to slide down from the top of the screen when the UI hangs. Additional info: * package version(s) * config and/or log files etc. Package Details: nvidia 295.20-4 The system has an Nvidia GTX550 Ti card from EVGA. This is an Intel Core i7 920 system. Steps to reproduce: 1. Have GNOME 3.3.92 package installed and the Nvidia 295.20-3 package installed. 2. Verify that gdm launches, you are able to login, and that the GNOME shell runs as expected. 3. Upgrade the Nvidia package to 295.20-4, reboot and repeat steps 1 and 2. 4. Observe that the GNOME shell hangs. |

Rolling back to the Nvidia 295.20-3 package resolves the issue.

I retested with 295.20-5 and was able to launch GNOME shell
successfully.
