Description:
coreutils programs shows a lot of ? in output/manpages when using other locales(tested with de_DE.UTF8). "Umlauts"(äöü) are fine, but chars like " ' - have only ? as output.
Seems to occur in all localized output and all man pages from coreutils package. No problem here with output from other progs from other packages...

Additional info:
* package version(s)
coreutils 8.15-1

Steps to reproduce:
rc.conf->LOCALE=de_DE.UTF8, CONSOLEFONT=lat9w-16
(locale.conf and locale-gen also setup correct)

% LANG=C cp -xxx
cp: missing file operand
Try `cp --help' for more information.

% cp -xxx
cp: Fehlendes Dateioperand
?cp --help? gibt weitere Informationen.
(? here is the utf8 symbol for a missing char)

Correctly output should be (de_DE.UTF8)
% cp -xxx
cp: Fehlendes Dateioperand
„cp --help“ gibt weitere Informationen.

Sorry, the mentioned output problems are only in TTY consoles, not in X-Terminals...
And it's not a problem with this version in testing, it also in current core version.

It's realy not a functional problem... I would say: Close this report...

//Edit: and coreutils is NOT in testing, i was confused with util-linux.
This is not my day today.... Close/delete it cause drunken reporter ;-)

It is widespread with anything using the "„" character. e.g.

> LANG=de_DE tar -zzzz
tar: Eine der Optionen -Acdtrux oder --test-label ist notwendig.
tar --help oder tar --usage gibt weitere Informationen.

So it is probably a font setup issue (???). Anyway, it seems not a bug to me...
