Steps to reproduce:
Open Eclipse, and your favorite piece of Java code, enter the first letters of a variable/class and hit Ctrl-Space, a list of suggestions should appear. It does'nt...

Well, for me too...but I use the (older) Helios now...this (included screenshot) is what I get with the Indigo. It just popped up today.
The Helios works just as well for me, you know...
