Description:

Strigi will not work unless the CLucene backend is available (as per http://www.vandenoever.info/software/strigi/). At least it didn't work until I installed it. Shouldn't you put the dependency ?

Thanks for the great work !

Guillaume

Uh? Clucene is disabled by our cmake options:

-DENABLE_CLUCENE=OFF \
-DENABLE_CLUCENE_NG=OFF \

I'm checking it.

a) Works for me.

b) The link you gave is outdated, they still list strigi 0.7.5 while arch has 0.7.7. Unfortunately the new site (linked to) is being remade.

Hmm, for some reason, my nepomuk / strigi instance was totally broken. I removed from my home every file that seemed related to strigi / nepomuk, but to no avail. I constantly had messages like :

"Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken."

I installed clucene (a shot in the dark), and suddenly everything was working again... But reading your message, Fabian, I uninstalled clucene and checked again : it worked. Rebooted, just in case : still works.
So I guess you were right, installing clucene just seems to have fixed something, but strigi works without it. I'll close the bug, and sorry for the noise :) !
