Details

- mkinitcpio is in [core] and allows you to select between gzip, bzip2, lzma, xz and lzop to compress the initramfs image.
- gzip, bzip2 and lzma/xz are in the [core] repository.
- lzop is currently in the [extra] repository.

I think lzop should be moved to [core] as it is offered as one of the possible options.

It's an optdepend. We've never had a hard rule about optdepends following the repo hierarchy rules. Given that _nothing_ depends directly lzop, I find this to be a hard sell.

Then maybe a comment line should be added in mkinitcpio.conf to tell the user about lzop not being directly available. What I have in mind is the installation process, where you install the base distribution and then edit the files. If lzop is selected then the initial configuration will fail.

I do understand though you'd like to avoid adding too much things in [core].
