Details

Description:
Boot messages says swap fails to mount, showing [Failed] instead of [Done]. However, swap seems to be enabled.

util-linux 2.20.1-2 from core

/etc/fstab:
UUID=c597ac1f-37e3-4967-a065-7726c1b239ba swap swap defaults 0 0

/var/log/boot:

Why do you blame swap when the log you pasted quite clearly shows that it succeeded? Please post your full /etc/fstab and the output of blkid.

During the booting screen it clearly states [Failed] at Activating Swap. I'll try to attach a screenshot later.

You have a device in fstab that doesn't exist (as per blkid). If you were to add noauto to the UUID=F82C-70DD source entry, you'd likely see this "Activating swap" failure go away.

You are correct. I find it strange however that the Failed message is shown at the Activating Swap line, while the corresponding fstab line is about an external device.
