Works for me. I did convert a flac to mp3 with no issue.

I retried ...
First converting a whole folder of flace files to ogg. My CPU was quite busy but i did not see any progress in the widown : all files had a full bar beside them and their names were greyed out. After some time I clicked on 'cancel' and ... in my destination folder all my ogg files came appearing one by one.

Second converting a single file from flac to ogg : no result. The notificiation 'conversion done, 0s' appeared at the bottom but there were no converted files found in the destination.

Tested with gnome 3.2

Please wait until the package is updated to 2.0.2 and then report it upstream (at https://bugs.launchpad.net/soundconverter) if this is till a problem (and it's not already reported).

I just upgraded to 2.0.2 and soundconverter keeps on behaving strange. When I start a conversion it hangs. As soon as I press cancel after that, it starts converting all my files ... All files are correctly converted though.

Yes, that sounds like an upstream bug.
