Description:
ArchWiki uses several templates for linking to package information pages in official repositories and AUR by means of queries, including package names (e.g. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?K=yaourt&SeB=x and https://www.archlinux.org/packages/?name=pacman). Such queries should also be made possible for groups. See also #26383 and https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Template:Grp.

Template:Grp does just that and Arch front page has a link to package groups so ...?
Do you want to be able to search for packages AND for package groups from the same page?

More precisely: search for package groups separately from packages but in similar manner (both i686 and x86_64 versions of group should be displayed).

You can hack the url to get https://www.archlinux.org/groups/i686/xorg-apps/ or https://www.archlinux.org/groups/x86_64/xorg-apps/ . Simultaneous selection doesn't seem to be possible.

There are also groups for single architecture (e.g. https://www.archlinux.org/groups/x86_64/multilib-devel/). Well, this is feature request - it should be closed as soon as everyone refuse to implement it.

Patches welcome, but it is as easy as forming the URLs above when looking for a group.

I don't know if I'm interpreting Alexander's thought right, but since he replied to https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Template_talk:Grp#i686-centric I guess he would like to have architecture-independent results for group searches, with "duplicate" entries for packages that exist for both architectures (they have common package name and group name but different architecture). At least that's what I was thinking of when I started that discussion.

It would be a lot better to add group in the packages UI, for search them and see the dependency from package to some group.
