So we need more info, what package is affected, what update caused this issue and did you look at the mailing list, since i recall a thread about it ?

Is this issue still present? Do we need to apply that patch to the evdev driver?

Yes, this issue is still present in the 2.7.0-1 version of the evdev driver that is currently in Extra and was built on March 7. This patch for the same 2.7.0 version of the evdev driver came out on March 15.

The Ubuntu Precise evdev driver was patched on March 15. Here is their bug report:
