Details
Description:
A libvisual-plugins bug from 2008 has returned from the grave - possibly due to gcc changes - following a recent update: [2012-02-16 12:06] upgraded libvisual-plugins (0.4.0-4 -> 0.4.0-5) Causing numerous applications to segfault. The original report is at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvisual-plugins/+bug/287448 I extracted verbatim the debian 60_no-const-vispluginfo-in-nastyfft.patch which resolves the bug in this case as well. Attached are the resultant files. Additional info: * package version(s) extra/libvisual-plugins 0.4.0-5 core/glibc 2.15-6 core/gcc 4.6.2-7 Steps to reproduce: $ pidgin ERROR: Caught a segmentation fault while loading plugin file: /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstlibvisual.so Please either: - remove it and restart. - run with --gst-disable-segtrap --gst-disable-registry-fork and debug. |
