DetailsHello.
As I wrote with Andreas Radke, the maintainer of mesa in Archlinux, I would like to open a feature request for mesa. Is it maybe possible to enable the SVGA gallium driver in mesa? This is the gallium driver for VMware which enables 3D support. This can be packed in a package called "svga-dri". As it does not conflict with any other package and just provides new features, it sould not be any problem to implement it. My second request is to enable the statetacker in mesa. This is done with "--enable-xa". The benefits are: * When you go and rebuild xf86-video-vmware against it, it will support KMS and 3D support. * Also it enables the ATI statetracker driver for Xorg, which is not used by default but can be enabled. Also here, there are no conflics with any current feature or package. You can pack it into a new package called "mesa-statetracker" for exaple. As a VMware user I really would like to see that in mesa, as it will give us 3D support in the Virtual Maschine. Thank you and greetings Egon Ashrafinia |
