FS#2834 - hal 0.5.2 in testing does not create mount point for my opticals/floppy drive
|
DetailsHal used to create mount points for my optical drives and my floppy drive under /media. With the new 0.5.2-2 package it doesn't. This breaks some desktop functionality, like automounting in gnome. Is this intended?

in -2, hal runs in dropped privileges mode from the initscript. In this mode, it isn't allowed to add devices to /etc/fstab. I will release a -3 package shortly, which will either run with its own hal user and gets added to the storage/optical group, or I will run it with --retained-privileges again. For the time being, you can add "--retain-privileges" in the hal initscript.
