Description:

Forum search too often returns completely useless results unrelated to any terms in the query.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Open the search form
2) Type "php 5.3" (without quotes) in the search field
3) Submit the form

Actual results: the search results are completely irrelevant to php 5.3.

Expected results: the search results should be *at least* as relevant as those of the google query "php 5.3 site:bbs.archlinux.org" (without quotes).

you should redirect your complain on fluxbb bugtracker. We don't modify the sources at all apart of adding the registration question.

'php' is a very common string, many links mentioned on the forum have it.

I'm getting

An error was encountered
Error: Unable to insert search results.

when selecting 'Show results as posts'. 'Show results as topics' works.
Should I open a bug report for this?

no, because you just blow up mysql by doing a slow query. the search feature just sucks on fluxbb.
