freecol runs very slow on a clean install of arch i686 with DGA enabled. After a google search i foudn a way to fix this. Maybe this can be added to the starterscript /usr/bin/freecol? If there are reasons not to change the current call maybe it can be added as a comment to save others the time searching for it? Additional info: local/freecol 0.10.3-1 A turn-based strategy game based on Colonization local/xf86-video-intel 2.17.0-2 (xorg-drivers xorg) X.org Intel i810/i830/i915/945G/G965+ video drivers local/jre 7u2-1 Java 7 Runtime Environment Steps to reproduce: - just running freecol Steps to fix: - adding -Dsun.java2d.pmoffscreen=false to the command in /usr/bin/freecol Alternate performance improvements: - change -Xmx256M to -Xmx512M |
