Description: trying to open a YouTube video giving the url
to Vlc gives only this error:
Vlc can't recognize the input format: the format of 'http://www.youtube.com/v/ST86JM1RPl0' can't be detected. Additional info: * package version(s) vlc 1.1.13-3 * config and/or log files etc. Steps to reproduce: just play a YouTube video with Vlc |

Please, report this bug to the upstream.
you cannot play that video like that. open that link in a browser and notice the big warning.
This video contains content from UMG. It is restricted...blabla
Please, let me know if it works now.
I used the other url format in the debug same results, also same results with your video url.
The short url isn't visible in browser, but is in the testing version of Vlc (tried now, this is an edit)

Perfetto! I just downloaded the package version from testing and installed through yaourt -U pkgname, works flawlessy! Thanks!
Works well with other videos.
