Description:
I'm running Arch 64 on my machine with an onboard intel soundcard and nvidia 520 GT graphics card. I have a Blue Snowball usb mic attached to my machine. When I updated KDE from 4.7.4 to 4.8.0 I decided to setup my profile from scratch, e.g. I deleted .kde4 and logged in again. Now kmix doesn't remember the volume settings on my mic. I've tried setting them using alsamixer and doing a "alsactl store". But upon relogin the volume on my mic it set to zero again.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.

kdemultimedia-kmix 4.8.0-1
alsa-lib 1.0.25

Steps to reproduce:

1. Set volume levels on usb mic with alsamixer or kmix.
2. logout or restart.
3. login again.
