Description:

Some packages in the repositories are signed, but have "Unknown Packager" as the packager.

This is most likely due to the packager forgetting to put his name in /etc/makepkg.conf

pacman will still download the key, but it is nearly impossible to know who signed the package, resulting in a (minor) annoyance.

Since (except for go) all of these seam fairly small ( < 1mb), I'd suggest a rebuild.

Additional info:
Architecture: x86_64, although it should be on i686 as well.

For the record: Note that the latest change in the svn log does not say anything about who last packaged or released a package. (I see that the latest svn change for the Go package was from me, but I didn't release it and none of my packages has the problem with "Unknown Packager").

Thanks for reporting, we'll fix this. I'll start with the go package.

According to "pacman -Si | grep "Name\|Unknown" | grep -B 1 "Unknown" | grep -v "Unknown""

nicotine and pacgraph remain, while pidgin-talkfilters,python-gasp and talkfilters are new.

For i686 there are still a few such packages: 9base asunder cdck curlftpfs dtach libghemical liboglappth pidgin-talkfilters sloccount talkfilters.

pidgin-talkfilters and talkfilters are signed by Connor Behan and have Unknown Packager as the packager for both 32 and 64-bit. These seem to be the only 2 packages that need fixing for x86_64.

Fixed sloccount. nicotine is no longer in [community]. Fixed python2-rst2pdf as well some time ago. (All of these three were adopted after this issue was created).

  • Field changed: Summary ([devtools] some signed packages have "Unknown Packager" → some signed packages have "Unknown Packager")
  • Field changed: Category (Packages → Packages: Extra)
  • Field changed: Architecture (All → All)
  • Assignment removed
Not related to devtools. Pckages that have no packager set were probably built without devtools at this ensures a correct packager entry.

packages remaining and their packagers:

pidgin-talkfilters (cbehan)
python2-cssutils (jelle)
python2-mock (jelle)
python-cssutils (jelle)
python-mock (jelle)
talkfilters (cbehan)

Removed pidgin-talkfilters. Upstream is gone; no downloads, no project pages and purple-plugin-pack seems to be the replacement (already in [extra]).

Rebuilt talkfilters (and fixed the license, it was GPL2 not public domain).
Comment by Alexander F. Rødseth (xyproto) - Monday, 16 December 2013, 22:23 GMT
Rebuilt python-mock/python2-mock. python-cssutils/python2-cssutils was already fixed.

All [community] packages are now fixed.
