Details

After upgrade to kernel 3.2 nouveau driver produces corrupted image in X. On
bottom part of screen (~1/3) controls are invisible (some of them become
visible after mouse hover or scroll).

Switching to console seems to be slower than earlier. Occasional gpu lockup
occurs. Console works fine.

Nothing suspicious in dmesg.

Revert to 3.1 solves problem.

firmware is not needed anymore since ages, the kernel doesn't need it anymore.
