Since I upgraded my system to use ALSA 1.0.9, sound output via esd doesn't work anymore. It sounds very jittered, like a robot voice.

[Of course, with the new alsa version, most programs don't actually need esd anymore, due to the easily usable dmix in alsa. Nonetheless, a few programs still don't work with alsa (flashplayer, realplayer) and thus need a sound daemon)]

Once new esd is in the repos the bug can be closed.

I compiled the new version of esd and now sound works well :)
You have just to wait...or to recompile it :)
