Details

Description: Updated grub2-common and grub2-bios 1:1.99-5 -> 1:1.99-6. With the new packages, grub2 can no longer boot an iso I have on my hdd which it can do under the 1:1.99-5 version. What happens is, I highlight the menu item which selects the iso and hit ENTER. Grub2 does something, and my machine reboots with no output, just a reboot. If I reinstall the older (-5) version, the boot to iso is successful.

Additional info:
* package version(s): 1:1.99-6
* config and/or log files etc.: no log files that I can see but I can provide if someone tells me how to generate them.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Install the grub2-bios package
2) grub_bios-install --no-floppy --recheck /dev/sda
3) reboot and try to boot the ubuntu iso (this fails in a reboot)
   grub (1.6 KiB)
   40_custom (0.5 KiB)

Post the output of after enabling debug "set debug=all" (text or screeshot). Also post this issue in bug-grub ML or #grub irc.

Added 'set debug=all' and booted the iso... over 20 min of debug info rolled by before my digital cam ran out of space videoing the process. Is there another debug level I can try?

Better to ask in #grub

@graysky: Does grub2 2.00beta2 update work properly?

@Keshav - the bug is now gone. 2.00beta2 works fine!
