Description:
can't upgrade pacman because it says: :: gcc-libs and gcc-libs-multilib are in conflict. Remove gcc-libs-multilib? [y/N] and i can't neither remove that package neither ignore it. i installed same version of pacman with "abs" without any problems. Additional info: * pacman-4.0.1-4 Steps to reproduce: try update pacman |

I worked around this by removing gcc-multilib first.
I have this problem too, but removing gcc-libs-multilib would
break too many packages so I cannot remove it.
I had this problem. I added the multilib repository to
pacman.conf, then pacman was able to do the update.
That was it. I am SO SORRY about filing this bug. When Pacman was
updated to the latest version I started with a new pacman.conf,
and should have guessed that. This should be closed.
Don‘t be sorry! Other people propably had this problem and this
conversation should have been helpful to them.
