DetailsHello, I don't know well if this request has been created, but I want to propose some ideas.
I think rc.conf (and others) would must be configured easier. I think in Gentoo and I see that if I want add some daemon or others scripts I have to do 'rc-update add daemon'. I think in Arch, that's needed. Also, we can do it with modules, keyboard and other configurations, but these commands edit directly configurations files. With a easy sed command we can do it. What do you thing about this? |
This task depends upon
Arch is based around the idea that editing configuration files by hand is not such a bad thing. An rc-update clone wouldn't be bad, per se, but it would be counter-intuitive to our philosophy, and developer time could probably be spent better in other areas of Arch (right now).
