DetailsDescription:
I have a Microsoft Sidewinder X4 keyboard with normal media keys. Usually they work properly without configuring something just plug and play. But since an update before some months these media keys don't work anymore. I already installed archlinux new from scratch but the issue still resists so I think this is a bug. When I press the play, next, back button I get a "not attached sign" of gnome. Sound buttons work. The Keys are configured in the gnome settings, so I don't know whats going wrong. I also tried the wiki article and workarounds where you can manuelly set the keys which control media but they didn't help. Additional info: * gnome-3.2.1-1; gnome-mplayer-1.0.4-1; mplayer-34426-1; xorg-server-1.11.3-1 * configs are default except setting manuell the keymap in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf Steps to reproduce: 1. Install archlinux with full Gnome Environment 2. Try to controll gnome-mplayer with media keys of usb-keyboard |
This task depends upon
There was a time of two days where I could sometimes use the media keys but this been a while.
Could it be a keyboard issue?
