You can verify from the command line that smplayer really has no problem opening such files... So it must be a pcmanfm issue.

i dropped the workaround in 0.6.10 that changed %U to %F in Exec from smplayer.desktop.

With nautilus everything works as expected, i can open files having spaces, [, [, spaces in path.
