Perhaps you should try building with those flags. Last I checked, either relro or fortify breaks NaCl building.

I saw this when  FS#27697  linked directly to the offending commit.

Let's just say that the fix is trivial and any maintainer worth his salt wouldn't have pushed that package out to anyone.

My bad; I misinterpreted the suggestion to remove CFLAGS/CXXFLAGS from the environment [1].

I'll follow up with a -2 package which will provide the CFLAGS through release_extra_cflags, and a patch to fix the NaCl build.
