While booting the archlinux-2011.08.19-core-i686 install system the boot process hangs:

...

Or other errors.

Three CDs were burned from different downloads and tested with two different CD drives.

Additional info:
Affected version archlinux-2011.08.19-core-i686.

The installer of archlinux 2009.02 runs on the same machine without problems.

ata2.00 is probably your CD-ROM? Is it a pioneer device?

first you should use pastebin for this very long log,
then, rhis seems a very difficult and hard bug to fix due to older hardware. i think you should install the working version of archlinux and try to upgrade packages incrementally for searching the kernel/udev/something other package which cause this problem,

Have you had a look at https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=136907 ?

If that does not fix your issue, I'm afraid it is something that has to be fixed upstream in the kernel.
