Details

[1] allows for merging comments and votes of deleted packages into another one which is useful if a package needs to be renamed. Unfortunately it seems it does not transfer the notify list [2].

Also,I think an notification email about the merging should be sent to the notify list of the been merged package.

If the person doing the merging leaves a comment, it should be sent before the merging, right?

What I think is that there should be an automatic maill about the merging sent after the merging is done,some thing like this:

The AUR [package1][] your've subscribed has just been merged into [package2][],now you are
automatically subsubscribed to [package2][],all you comments and votes of [package1][] have
been merged to [package2][] too.You should install [package2][] from AUR to replace [package1][].

I don't know whether the "replace" variable in PKGBUILD works in AUR,if so,that would be great.
