Description:

$ iotop
Netlink error: Operation not permitted (1)
iotop requires root or the NET_ADMIN capability.

The reason for the change is here:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-kernel/2011/12/msg00389.html

In response to the issue:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=716842

So, Arch can either grant the NET_ADMIN capability as a convenience via post_install, or not.

Unfortunately it is not possible to run iotop as a regular user with limited/restricted capabilities, as far as I know.

I am uninformed as to the security implications of granting capabilities to iotop on a single-user scale, much less to an entire distribution, hence deferred here.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
community/iotop 0.4.4-1

Reason for closing:  Won't implement
Additional comments about closing:  If you wish to have the capability to run as non-root back as in pre-3 kernel, I suggest you talk to upstream. I do not plan to do any changes in the package.
