I know that some applications have compile issues with mono 1.1.x, but I made sure that at leat all of our applications in the repos work. mono-1.1.x has been declared as current stable a while ago, so I really think that applications will be broght to the new state of art soon.

Yes, the latest one, it doesn't compile, I think because of gecko-sharp, not sure. My editor of the magazine I am writing for (LinuxPlus, printed in 5 languages in Europe) asked me to review Liferea and Blam! for this month, and unfortunately Blam does not work with Arch anymore. I would have to install another distro to get it working so i can do the job. :(

well, I'm sorry to hear that, but unfortunately, the mono software in itself became somekind of inconsistent. Especially, the gecko-sharp and gtksourceview-sharp have been undergone a change in the name. With the update of monodevelop to 0.7 it became necessary to bring the two libs to the *-2.0 version. Unlike the gtk-sharp and gtk-sharp-2.0 lib which can be installed side by side, all my efforts to do the same for gecko-sharp and gtksourceview-sharp failed, because they are installed into the same folders and even more the pkgkonfig files even for gecko-sharp-0.7 already had this 2.0 suffix. Now this upgrade breaks many applications that rely on the libs. Also beagle which has a fixed dependency on gecko-sharp-0.6 doesn't build with the current update.
I described some way to get the older software(in this case beagle) here:

After dealing with this bug:
http://bugs.archlinux.org/index.php?do=details&id=2760
I figured that gecko-sharp-0.7 is infact an early gecko-sharp-2.0 while 0.6 is still compatible with the original version. This fact makes it possible to install gecko-sharp-0.6 and gecko-sharp-2.0-0.10.
What a cranky versioning, and even the Changelogs are not really helpful.
But I hope this will help on your issue.

On a side note: If anyone will flag out of date this new gecko-sharp-0.6-4 I might seriously freak out. This game is not really amusing ...
