With the latest upgrade to libgnomecanvas-2.10.1-1, Evolution crashes when trying to send messages including a PGP key and/or a signature. After the first such crash, Evolution didn't start up until I removed ~/.evolution and opened a new profile.

Falling back to libgnomecanvas-2.10.0-1 solved this issue.

When I upgraded my machine to 2.10.1 today, evolution hung up completely, but running /opt/gnome/libexec/evolution/2.2/killev solved all problems. I've seen more programs crashing when upgrading libs while the application is running though.

I can't reproduce this issue on my own system with the testcase you described.

Even with multiple reboots, evolution crashes every time I try to send a message. Disabling PGP and/or signatures doesn't solve the problem: Evolution crashes without an error report before sending the message. Restarting Evolution, the message will be in the Outbox and is delivered without problem after hitting the send/receive button. Creating another message and sending the e-mail crashes Evolution again.

This does only happen with 2.10.1; 2.10.0 works flawlessly, here. Killing the environment services did not solve the problem, only a fallback did.

Got the bug, now I can reproduce it. Will be fixed with the 2.10.1-2 package.

actually, libgnomevanvas-2.10.1-3 really fixes it. you can close it again.

2.10.2 has been released to fix this problem. Our "fix" solves the crashes, but is not right. Actually, gal needs a patch and gnomecanvas needs an update to 2.10.2.
