Description:
Updated Opera to 11.60.1 using pacman -Syu,
On my laptop opera crashes with sigsegv almost immediately on start up.
did a pacman -R opera, which didn't delete all the files, so I manually deleted the left behinds and re-installed with pacman -Sy opera. Same Thing...

Tried it on my desktop, does the same thing but gives a little more info...

Unable to load the real plugin libavutil.so.49: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
opera [crash logging]: CRASH!!
/usr/lib/opera/opera got signal SIGSEGV at address 08962B6E

libavutil is for ffmpeg so i don't think it is causing the sigsegv...

This task depends upon

Unable to reproduce here (on x86_64). Are all other packages up to date? Have you tried renaming ~/.opera temporarily, then starting it again? Is ffmpeg installed?
Comment by Eric (BronzeBeard) - Wednesday, 07 December 2011, 15:49 GMT
I have renamed my ~/.opera, that didn't fix it. I also have ffmpeg installed on both machines. All packages should be updated and synced with the repos.

I am going to try to install from opera's site, and see if there is any difference.

EDIT: Installed directly from their site and still have the same problem, (same address etc).

Thanks for checking and replying. If somone else can reproduce this for i686, I think it should be reported upstream.

Great, then it's confirmed. If someone would report it to Opera, we'll just have to wait for a fix.

Is this still a problem with Opera 11.61?
Comment by Eric (BronzeBeard) - Wednesday, 25 January 2012, 16:50 GMT
"Opera 11.61 was released yesterday and includes a fix for this issue.

Reply to this e-mail to respond to the query."

Is the email I woke up to this morning.

Thanks again :)
