That is the sequence to repeat the failure:

You install dhcp server.
You install firestarter
All works properly
You uninstall dhcp server
firestarter does not work
You reinstall dhcp server
firestarter does not work

There are 2 options to solve the problem.

1- $cp dhcpd.conf.pacsave dhcpd.conf

2- reinstall firestarter and run in XWindow console firestarter to reconfigure it

So I think that it is a bug, there are some dependencies between these packages and we can install and uninstall without any warning.

This task depends upon

Reason for closing:  Fixed
Additional comments about closing:  Added dhcp as dependency for firestarter - we know it _can_ run w/o it but people who know what they do can easily force it

While just copying the pacsave files seems a very easy solution it is too much automagic, because it will destroy any changes a user would have made manually in the dhcpd.conf before s/he installed firstarter.
Basically, the situation would be equivalent if you do a manual managing of the file like this:
- install dhcp and configure dhcpd.conf by manually
- uninstall dhcp leaves a dhcpd.con.pacsave in place
- install dhcp again and you have, out of the box, no configuration
only after you tweaked the conf again or copied the old pacsave file as
dhcpd.conf it will work again

Well, the most pragmatic solution is to make dhcp a dependency of firestarter - well we know that it can run w/o it but only for those who know what they are doing ...
Is that hat we want?
