Description:

Default CONFIG_NR_CPU=8 is insufficient for recent Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3930K CPU which has 6 cores with 12 hyper-threads.

To enable all cores, CONFIG_X86_BIGSMP=y and CONFIG_NR_CPUS=12 must be set.

I was under the impression that 8 was the maximum number on i686. I still assume that the X86_BIGSMP option has some negative effect, otherwise it would be enabled by default.

We don't even support PAE on 32 bit, so I don't see why we would support BIGSMP. Why don't you use x86_64? We have support for 64 CPUs there.
