Detailsdevil requires installing allegro4, freeglut and sdl even though they are only needed by library libILUT, which provides glut support for devil libraries. These should be optional dependencies.

One solution is to build devil without libILUT, as it doesn't seem that packages are using libILUT...
Waiting feedback before moving to community.
