fetchnews returns error "no such user: 9" slrn reports similar when connecting to localhost. [port 119 is open] Additional info: * package version(s) leafnode-1.11.8-3 * config and/or log files etc. The same config I have been using for x years. Steps to reproduce: It happens all the time and was resolved by downloading leafnode source code from sourceforge and compiling it myself. $ ./configure --sbindir=/usr/sbin --bindir=/usr/bin $ make # make install |

Install the package from community and run these commands as root:
groupadd -g 13 -r news
useradd -u 9 -r -m -g news news
