According to the release notes of 2.11.9, papyon is no longer required because it is an included library: http://blog.emesene.org/2011/09/emesene-2119-is-out.html

Papyon should be removed as a required dependency.

Note that emesene still does use papyon, just it's own version, so it still requires papyon's dependencies.

Papyon should be removed but these dependencies should be added:
pycrypto
python2-gobject2
python2-pyopenssl

While you're at it, please also set pywebkitgtk as a required dependency, not as optional. The other conversation output mode is only implemented as a fallback for systems that don't have the right pywebkitgtk version (for example Windows). pywebkitgtk also greatly improves Facebook support (when xmpppy is installed).
