Description:
Since I updated to kernel 3.1 (but also a bunch of other packages), my laptop completely freezes when I turn off the display and on again (via the FN+F2 keys in my case on the keyboard):
The display is on again, like usual, but a message gets printed (you see how it just starts to print in that moment from top, when you pay attention) and then the laptop is not usable anymore. ALT+F2, CTRL+ALT+DEL do not work, I have to reboot via the power button.

I've taken a photo with my mobile that shows the error message, because I couldn't find it in the log files. If someone can tell me, where I need to look, I will upload it of course (looked in everything.log so far).

Thanks!

PS: Tested about five times now.

Please take this upstream and file a bug against the ideapad_laptop module. This is clearly an ACPI issue that needs attention from the module developer.

thanks :)

right now bugzilla.kernel.org seems to be down, but I'll try it later and fill a bugreport when it gets back on.

Bugzilla is up again report it there. Also is it still an issue?

Thanks for letting me know!

I just checked and the issue doesn't apply anymore with linux 3.2.2-1 :)
