While connecting to a VPN network with vpnc, the script /etc/vpnc/vpnc-script throws an error:

# vpnc tu
Enter password for XXXXXX @vpngate.XXXXX.de:
Connect Banner:
| Willkommen at XXXXX
|

/etc/vpnc/vpnc-script: line 101: "1500" - 88 : syntax error: operand expected (error token is ""1500" - 88 ")
VPNC started in background (pid: XXXXX)...

The config file is correct. This leads to an unfinished connection via VPN.

Changing the line 101 in /etc/vpnc/vpnc-script from MTU=$(( "$MTU"-88 )) to MTU=$(( $MTU-88 )) solves the problem.

Package versions:

$ pacman -Q bash vpnc
bash 4.2.010-2
vpnc 0.5.3.svn457-1
