Details

I got a kernel panic once finished the base packages installation. So, I got to edit the config files by chrooting.

Hardware:
Mobo with chipset VIA KM266
S3 ProSavage IGP up to 32 MB
512 MB RAM
40 GB IDE HDD
52x CD-ROM

Media used: Imation 700 MB CD-RW (bought for 3 days)

anyway this is probably a hardware problem, or an upstream problem, (or maybe a corrupted iso). kernel panics have nothing to do with arch-releng
