Description:
After upgrading pulseaudio and libpulse from 1.0-3 to 1.1-1 and relogging, sound no longer works. Audacious plays happily and pavucontrol shows it's outputting audio and unmuted. The appropriate channels are unmuted and up, and my speakers are plugged in, on, and turned up. No sound is coming out. If I downgrade pulseaudio and libpulse to 1.0-3 and relog without changing anything else, sound works again.

Additional info:
xorg-server 1.11.1-2
xorg-server-common 1.11.1-2
pulseaudio 1.1-1
libpulse 1.1-1
pulseaudio-alsa 1-2
audacious 3.0.4-1
custom kernel 3.0.3 w/ tuxonice patches

kernel module ca0106

Reason for closing:  Not a bug

Please pastebin the output of "pacmd list" while audio is playing, in both cases.

I can't get 1.1-1 to allow me to play today. The pulseaudio process doesn't stay alive long enough. But here's the `pacmd list` output for 1.0-3.

1Make sure pulseaudio 1.1-1 is not running (disable autospawning in /etc/pulse/client.conf if you have to), then run pulseaudio -vvv.

This might be more than you asked for. This is all with pulseaudio-1.1-1.
Attachments:
vacuum.xz = The output when I start pulseaudio -vvv and then do nothing.
buffer underrun.xz = The output when I start pulseaudio -vvv and quickly press play on audacious. Within a minute or two, audio stops.
no problems.xz = Same as the above, but audio keeps playing. I killed pulseaudio -vvv with ctrl+c after a bit.

Edit: I can't seem to delete the attachment I no longer want. "no problems.xz" 10.6 KiB is the full output. The 9.4 KiB file is cut off at line 1954.

Wait, so sound does work?

Yes, and the solution was to unmute a channel that was muted by the upgrade. Unfortunately, I forgot the point of this bug report until you mentioned it just now. I'll file a new one for the constant crashing.
