Reason for closing: Works for me
Additional comments about closing: use a theme that has support for gtk2 and gtk3, like Adwaita from gnome-themes-standard then set it up in your DE. Also check gnome wiki to see how to set up a gtk3 theme for applications

transmission 2.42 is now using gtk3. find a theme that has a gtk2 and a gtk3 variant

I'm using a theme that supports GTK3 and GTK2. I tested a few different themes for both versions, and there was no change.
